Transfer away, how to evaluate Pavard’s Bayern career

Multiple media outlets have posted that Inter have completed the transfer of Pavard from Bayern Munich for a total of €32 million.

Pavard, a 27-year-old Frenchman, can play as a centre-back and right-back on the field. He shot to fame for scoring a skillful overhead kick during the 2018 World Cup match between France and Argentina in Russia. Bayern Munich bought him from Stuttgart in the summer of 2019 for €35 million.

Pavard played for Bayern for four seasons, making a total of 163 appearances, contributing 12 goals and 12 assists, as well as scoring a number of “Peach Blossom Shadow Flying Excalibur”-style overhead kicks, which left a deep impression on the fans. During his time with Bayern, Pavard won one Champions League trophy, one Club World Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, four Bundesliga titles, one German Cup and two German Supercups. He occupied one of the starting positions in Bayern’s backline for most of the time.

Pavard openly stated last year that his preferred position was centre-back, and with Bayern unable to meet his demands, the two sides grew apart. Now, Pavard has moved to Inter with 1 year left on his contract, leaving Bayern with a €32 million transfer fee.

How do Bayern fans rate Pavard’s performance at Bayern and his departure?
