Twenty-one-year-old Jake Sanderson recently signed an eight-year, $64.4 million contract with the Ottawa Senators. Sanderson is believed to be the youngest Senators player to sign a long-term contract with the team in recent years.
Sanderson was selected by Ottawa as the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. He played two seasons at the University of North Dakota before donning a Cheap NHL Jerseys . Also helped Team USA win the gold medal at the 2021 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. Last season, Sanderson scored 4 goals and 28 assists in 77 games, ranking third among rookie defensemen in Senators history and one of the most steady players on the Senators roster. This past June, Sanderson was also named to the NHL All-Rookie Team. He is now entering the final year of his entry-level contract.
Signing an 8-year contract with the team shows that the team has a high level of confidence and expectations in Sanderson. I believe he can make important contributions to the team over the next few years in the Ottawa Senators jersey. Teams like the Avalanche and Chargers have picked and won the Stanley Cup in recent seasons. And more teams are following the formula and hoping to achieve similar results.
